If you read our last blog post, you would understand the effects of under-inflated tyres on your vehicle's performance and safety. It is therefore not surprising that over-inflated tyres also affect the performance and safety of your vehicle.

Here are some of the effects of over-inflated tyres:

Reduced Traction: Over-inflated tyres alter the contact area between the tyre and the road, reducing the amount of traction and grip available to your vehicle, which can be particularly dangerous in wet or slippery conditions

Harsh Ride: Tyres are part of your suspension, over-inflated tyres can result in a harsh, uncomfortable ride.

Uneven Wear: Over-inflated tyres can cause the middle section of the tyre tread to wear out more quickly than the edges, resulting in a shorter tyre lifespan.

Increased risk of blowouts: Over-inflated tyres put you at an increased risk of a tyre blow out which can cause you to lose control of your vehicle. Especially if the tyre has been previously under-inflated!
